I’m a C-Level Executive Who’s Quietly Quitting
And I’m Not Alone
We’ve heard and read countless things about the great resignation. Millions of people quit their jobs (or their bosses), leaving remaining employees stretched so thin that companies hang signs asking customers to extend some grace to those who bothered showing up to work.
That leaves good employees doing the work of two, three, or more people. Many are at their breaking points. More are out of fucks to give.
As employees overwork, they get grumpy, ruining what was a good culture. Missed deadlines. Upset customers. Short-fused colleagues. Endless zoom calls.

We hear words like reset, pivot, synergy, clarity, and alignment. We’re asked to stay focused on goals and bottom lines while being voluntold to attend team-building activities on nights and weekends. Our days are filled with meetings about nothing — or worse — meetings about meetings. Enough.

I was hired a few years ago to run two departments. On day one, that became three. A year into the job and 50% of the company reported up to me, directly or indirectly.
I’m good at my job. I’m not good at everyone’s job.
